It often happens that we look for a 'properly sized' tarp and nothing really fits. A little too short, a little too long... or that floats in the wind. When we want to protect properly, improve the hold and avoid premature wear, the most logical solution often remains the custom tarp.

To ensure optimal protection, the solution is neither complex nor expensive: just start from the real need, that is to say from your exact dimensions. And good news, you can create your custom tarpaulin in a few clicks, directly online.

1) When the structure already exists (and that it is necessary to adapt, not the other way around)

It can be a wooden frame, a metal framework, a homemade framework, an extended garden table, an improvised storage area...

We often end up with a home installation but sometimes no standard tarpaulin exactly matches.

Example:

You have mounted a simple structure with 4 posts and some crossbars. The total width is 2.91 m. Impossible to find this dimension in trade. In this case, with the Bâches Direct custom tarp configurator, your Tecplast PVC tarp follows your exact dimensions to the centimeter.

2) When what we cover does not have a regular shape

Pile of equipment, stack of wood, stacked outdoor furniture, motor machine, tools, barbecue placed in a corner... In real life, these are never clean rectangles.

With a standard tarp, it sticks out, it wrinkles or it flies away and therefore it is prematurely damaged.

Example:

A long, low pile of wood. The dimensions do not match any tarp from the trade. The tailor-made Bâches Direct allows to have a long and narrow tarp just for this use. In this case, nothing replaces a custom tarp, adjusted to the actual shape of the material.

3) When the tarp is exposed to the wind

Some areas are more exposed than others: open ground, high garden, courtyard without walls, temporary construction site, seaside... In these environments, the wind is the first enemy of the tarp.

When a tarp is not adjusted:

  • if it is too big, it beats in the wind: it rubs, wears out and ends up tearing;
  • if it is too small, it can be too tense: the material becomes fragile and the eyelets can come off.

One might think that 'it will do', but an improperly fitted tarp sometimes ages three times faster.

Example:

You want to protect equipment outdoors in an open area. With a tarp too wide, the wind rushes under it: it swells, makes noise, tears at the corners of the material. With a custom-made Tecplast tarp with the right dimensions, the tension is uniform so the tarp remains stable, silent and durable.

4) When you want something clean, neat and discreet

A tarp is not always a temporary solution. In many cases, it remains in place for several months, even all year. It therefore becomes visible on a daily basis.

And there, aesthetics matter:

  • Too wide a tarp makes creases.
  • A tarp too small 'pulls' on the fasteners.
  • The result can quickly give an impression of DIY.

With a custom-made Tecplast tarp, you get a neat finish, a more harmonious visual integration with the space and especially a tarp that is not noticeable (which, often, is the goal).

Example:

You want to protect an outdoor storage space, or create a small sheltered area. A custom-made PVC tarpaulin of the exact size allows for a clear finish, which does not obstruct traffic or vision, and remains in place without regular adjustments. For a clean and discreet look, opt for a tarp custom-made to your dimensions.
